Happy Birthday Gemini!

This week’s post is gonna be a little different. Since I already did Gemini’s official tarot card; The Lovers before their season started let me go in more about how this is applicable to Gemini.

Gemini is a mutable air sign ruled by the planet Mercury. As we know air is about communication, logistics, analysis, and mindsets. Mercury is literally the planet of communication, thought, technology, travel in some senses, etc. Gemini doesn’t solely express all elements of Mercury itself, the other aspects going to it’s peer Virgo.

Let’s talk about Gemini’s biggest stereotype: Being two-faced. The thing about Gemini is that the energy is polarizing. Gemini has the ability to put itself in others shoes to understand both sides of the fence. They mirror whatever you may project for better or for worse, unlike Libra which is adjacent utilizing duality instead. Polarization is the extremes; It is either Black OR White. I think this is where people can get that sense of being “two-faced” from.

Gemini has the ability to learn from others in the same way its sister sign Sagittarius does. Gemini learns by socialization, true to the air sign nature. Gemini is the kid who didn’t do the reading and when it’s time for the class discussion they can formulate their opinions and the gist of the text once 2 students gave their opinions, earning them their grade and perserving the facade of being an engaged and prepared student. The can accurately capture themes in almost no time and tend to be very curious about the world around them and others. More equipped to learn from people than from books. Their curious nature makes their mental appetite hard to satiate. Which is why they can get bored fast or run out of steam when a task is too dense, tedious, or sedentary. The achilles heel of Gemini is they will move on from things quickly when they are no longer stimulated which can cause a lot of unfinished business and carelessness. Their ability to see truth and understand opposing views can sometimes lead them to feeling lost about what is their own subjective truth causing them to feel lost or confused. Lastly they share the same drawback as Virgo because of being ruled by Mercury; suffering from overthinking, anxiety, and sometimes depression.

The last things that I want to add to this post are my own nuances and opinions about Gemini.

Like mentioned in the Astrolo-Tea post, everyone has all signs within your natal chart even if there isn’t a planet there (meaning you don’t have to be born during gemini season to have gemini placements or feel these effects):

Gemini placements tend to have a revolving door of options — if they are lonely it is never because no one is interested in them.

Gemini is a very sociable sign which may lean toward being extroverted, though gemini risings tend to be very black or white depending on the other placements they share. Meaning if they have more cardinal/fire/air placements they will lean towards extroversion having an easy time socializing across communities. If they have more water/earth/fixed placements they will be more reserved in nature and struggle to socialize especially within groups, preferring to spend (quite a lot of) time observing to decide how or when to interact.

Gemini rules over the hands and often they may need hobbies that are tactical, if not they may fidget often to compensate for all their mental chatter.

Gemini placements definitely need to talk through their thoughts to come to an understanding, whether it is with a friend, in a journal, or with a therapist.

I’ll leave it there! Let me know if any of these observation feel fitting to you in the usual place. Much love to my sister sign, happy Gemini season everyone. Cheers to making it halfway through the year and into summer!
