Tarot Talk:The Lovers (VI)

I think this Steven Universe Lovers rendition really drives this point home — especially for what it takes to be able to “fuse” in the first place.

Welcome and happy early Valentine’s Day weekend! I think today’s card is very fitting for the weekend entails.

Now this is another card that I think people look at face value and tend to overlook a grounding but less fanciful perspective. The Lover’s can often talk about finding an equally yoked soul; A marriage of some sort maybe romantic or even a business. Either way it is something that is on par with what you are putting out.

The more overlooked perspective is the Lovers is actually showcasing Homeostasis. Homeostasis is the golden point in which a living organism is at an physiological equilibrium in pH, blood sugar, temperature, etc regardless of their external environment. This looks like our mind, body, and emotions all being in sync, just like yin and yang energy. Often people see the Lovers and immediately start thinking outside of themselves or limiting the essence of alignment and flow to a romantic encounter. Harmony and flow must first exist on the inside.

I would even argue you that the balance between the mind body and heart and thus the masculine and feminine is the prerequisite to alignment not just in the divine feminine sense of attracting what you’d like but also in the masculine of taking a step for things to happen then allowing the universe to materalize the next steps and resources to actualize your goal. The Lover’s card is actually ruled by Gemini which is polarizing in nature because of the ability to consider so many different perspectives and or possibilities at once.

When the Lovers shows up in a spread instead of your mind trying to place the focus on others, ask yourself if you are in harmony with the elements of yourself. Is your mind living in the future? Your emotions caught in the past? Are you presently aware of your body? Then once these are all symbiotic ask yourself where else is this symbiotic energy showing up or the lack of? At work? At home? With your classmates? With your passions? The Lovers asks us to check in to make sure we are actually aligned internally in order to pull what we are wishing for into fruition or we may lose it as quickly as we got it. I hope this helps!
