Tarot Talk: 9 of Wands
Happy February! It’s the first Monday of the month and thus 3 more weeks of our last winter month. Let’s start some Tarot Talk!
Now this card I don’t feel people get misconstrued in the slightest, I do feel there is a perspective that often gets glossed over. When it comes to the 9 of Wands what we often can pick apart is 1) it is a wands card meaning we are speaking of passion, momentum, and vitality. 2) It’s the 9 of wands, meaning we are almost done with a journey. Based off our traditional imagery and the 2 elements stated we tend to summarize “We’ve been working on something for a while and now we are on guard and even fatigued trying to finish out a journey”. This interpretation isn’t wrong in the slightest — perseverance being one of the main components of this card.
If you are running a race and the finish line is within sight, yes we are encouraging you to persevere. Though the key to this is not to ignore and forcibly power through the fatigue. The other side of this message I feel is easily overlooked is in order to meet your finish line and not burn out at both ends the answer is to change your pace. Not to succumb to fatigue and quit running all together or to ignore the signals flags your body is sending you and keep running at full speed. Your step forward comes from bridging these components together and operating at a speed that is more sustainable to your body and your goal. Changing to 15mph instead of 30 or maxing the last of your tank in hopes that 40 will carry you is still progressing you to the end without upping the severity of recovery.
The next time the 9 of wands comes to visit you in a spread ask yourself where can you allow an adjustment in effort? Is the amount of momentum your exerting still sustainable to you? That’s all I have for you guys today; Short sweet and hopefully simple. I hope this helps! As always you can book your own reading here, further your understanding and even get a second opinion on a spread you pulled here.
