Tarot Talk: The Chariot VII

Welcome back to another Tarot Talk! In honor of Cancer season let’s talk about the card it’s ruled by; The Chariot.

The Charoit is actually one of my favorite cards because it denotes Divine Intervention. It is a moment to recognize things are out of our hands and Spirit has decided to take the lead. The modern way I’d like to explain this ordering an Uber.

Once you confirm the identities you are now a backseat passenger. Spirit is the driver in charge of getting you to your promised destination. It doesn’t matter if you track the GPS along with the driver — it doesn’t make you get there any faster. Instead it essentially wears you out before you even arrive. What you should do instead knowing you are already in route and the destination is promised is: Catch a nap, play or charge your phone, have some water, etc. Take care of YOU and what you need in the moment in preparation to arrive.

The chariot follows that same vibe — it is a lesson in active surrender. The results and route are not up to you, now with that aside what else can be done? How can you ready yourself for what is impending even if you don’t know all the things that may ensue.

In my opinion I feel as though the strongest connection I can make to this card and Cancer is as a water sign there is an energy of being at the mercy of the water. Knowing when it’s time to swim or rest against the current. As the Crab being the mascot for Cancer, sometimes it’s fine to to go back in your shell and nurture/be at home in yourself while you wait for the waves of life to carry you into the next journey.

When the Chariot enters your spread, try and ask yourself:

If the external is taken care of where can you focus on your internal needs? How can I support myself as I prepare to arrive into my next phase? What emotional needs have yet to be priortized? What emotions have I been experiencing lately and how can I make time to soothe them? What is stopping me from trusting the route spirit has set out for me?
