Tarot Talk: 3 of Swords

Welcome to another round of Tarot Talk y’all! This card in particular was brought on by a co-worker of mine so shoutout to Jen! Plus I think this card is very on theme for the beginning of scorpio season via our Venus and Mercury Rx.

What I want to point out is there is no way to avoid the discomfort of the three of swords. Swords, again denote the fact that this is mental/communicative/analytical. What we should do is acknowledge the inevitable. Yes, the situation sucks. Yes, there is either some (mental) anguish and turmoil present.

Where I think we can start to dig deeper is the fact that the story doesn’t have to stop there. What’s next now that the wrench has been thrown? Think about it like this, you vent about a minor annoyance between you and a friend to someone and the worst thing that can happen is it gets back to the person you were venting about before you have a chance to talk to them about it. By the end of the night, you receive that text and they are rightfully upset with you about the he said/she said and now is questioning your character as well as second guessing the friendship. Queue the 3 of swords.

There is nothing you can do or say to rewrite history or reverse the damage done, that essentially is the weight of the 3 of swords. Despite the discomfort, what else can be done? What else is true? The plus side is, you already took the hit. There is no longer something to brace for. Now there is nothing left but the rawness of clarity. In this example that could look like an accountable conversation when the friend is ready (I should have talk to you about it first, I was hoping to clarify my thoughts through the other person and instead I made you feel as though I didn’t value our friendship, i.e focus on what the reality is and what can be done instead of the coulda/shoulda/woulda) or it can be as simple as realizing you guys were better as associates than actual friends and now you have more bandwidth for genuine connections.

The three of swords is a summoning of truth and clarity, it dismantles the idealism of the situation. Though reality can be heavy it is also liberating to get the worst over with and finally be able to make your next move with more concrete understanding of the world around you/ins and outs of the situation.

That’s all from me this week!
