Tarot Talk: The Emperor (IV)
Hello again everyone! I think it’s only right that I do another major arcana for tarot talk being that we are officially in Aries season!
The emperor is Aries’ tarot card though I would personally associate them more with the Mars attitude of the Magician. We can get to that another day. This Major Arcana card typically is showcases a man sitting on a throne with his scepter either in hand or nearby. This is to showcase personal power and authority. It’s also the embodiment of masculine and or paternal energy.
What I feel is inexplicit here is just like in the traditional imagery he is usually calm. The confidence comes from truly knowing yourself. The emperor is not a perfect person or ruler. He is one who knows his strengths, his character, and his faults then uses that knowledge to access the circumstances for the best possible outcome. This is self reliance that helps others see him as dependable and thus don’t mind having him as a leader. Not someone who is aggressive, over the top, and domineering.
When the emperor is showing up it is a reminder that you don’t have to know everything — you just need to remember who you are. You don’t have to be someone else, your “highest” self, more of something or less of another characteristic. The emperor access what he already has, the traits that he’s carried his whole life and finds a way to make them work. He decides what ratio is best for the situation he is in and doubles down on what he can trust himself to do. This isn’t a big and flashy fire but more of a stable cracking fire that others will gravitate to. That’s all I wanted to share today, short and sweet!
