Hey y’all! This week I wanted to chat about something that people tend to ask me about in passing. Let me break a few things down.
Divination — regardless of the medium/modality the reader chooses to conduct the session — is essentially pulling on energy to get a sense and relay a message. Energy is fluid but also implicit hence us calling it ‘Reading’ or ‘Channeling’. It is not about creating something that does not currently exist, it is being a mouth piece between the implicit and the now, we give it dialog.
You may here people mention they only do collective readings, no personals or vice versa. Really the difference is about how much energy the reader prefers to take in and can relay understanding of. A collective reading is for a group or people. It is about the energy that the majority is giving out and may need, because of that it is up to us as the audience to be decerning about when, which, and what information fits and where if at all. In collective sessions there is always the possibility that there is no message for you in the same way ¾ people can be experiencing money issues while you in that moment may have just gotten a raise and an increased credit score. That wouldn’t be a sign that financial windfall is coming. It’s just the fact that the majority is experiencing something at the moment you aren’t. Collective readings need you to be discerning as a participant more than a personal one would, but also you should expect it to be less specfic and detailed to be able to fit the audiance. The reader may not give you any confirming details in your own life other than the general vibe they are picking up on because of the fact that the sample they are pulling energy from is vast so details have to be diluted. For example the reader may drink a bunch of different wines (their collective) blindfolded and be able to say some things about how maybe they’re mostly red and dry and come from warm areas with lots of sun, maybe even somewhere costal.
Personal readings are usually expected to be paid sessions while collectives are typically free or donation based. The reader now can get a stronger feel of the individuals energy and thus can deliver more detailed accuracy for their client. Personal readings usually allow the reader to connect with an individuals energy directly granting them a more rich understanding of that individuals energy whether it be past, present, future. Of course the client should still use their discernment, but it should be more overtly clear if the shoe fits or not. To use the example from earlier, if the blindfolded reader only has one glass of wine they may be able to decipher it is a white wine made from Italian grapes and the winery could be family owned through the maternal line.
There is nothing wrong with enjoying participation in personal or collective readings. Collective readings, especially now can usually be found online across platforms. While personal readings are typically services to be booked online, over the phone, and in person. As the client figure out which ones work for you depending on what you want and what you may have the means or access to. As the reader think about which ones feel more fulfilling to provide, the labor on spiritual hygiene to maintain, and what aligns most with where you are in your craft.
Personally I tend to provide both. Collective readings as content when I feel called to or want to try out something fun or light-hearted ideas. I may even do collective astrology content; All on my social media pages almost always for free (I don’t do donations, if money is involved it is purely out of the audience’s generosity). As you guys know I also do personal booking where I spend more time with the individual clients to pick up on what’s going on around them, messages specfically from their spirit team, and unlike my free and quick astrology content when I do chart readings it is tailored to who you are and spend a minimum of a week deciphering and articulating the findings and nuance.
