Transpersonal? Holistic?
If you’ve looked at my logo or browsed around the site you’ve noticed a few terms buzzing around, but what do they mean?
Let’s start with Holistic. Holistic is defined as “he belief that the parts of something are interconnected and can be explained only by reference to the whole”
That being said taking a holistic approach to something is being able to consider the variables in the experience and not just paying attention to the outcome that brought us there. Though seemingly nuanced the world has acknowledged how vital this perspective is. For example, your PCP can sometimes ask about your diet despite not being a nutritionist. Or you mention having a headache and people ask “did you eat, are you hot, how much water have you had, how much sleep did you get?” outright we understand that it may not be that your is just irrate, we assume that something (variables) have led to this outcome through considering other —less present — parts of the picture.
What does Transpersonal mean?
A direct definition would be “going beyond the personal/individual”. In this case I am utilizing this term more in the psychological perspective allotting it to include religious and or spiritual practices for the shared goal of personal growth, self-transformation, and well-being.
What I am aiming to do here is to use the spiritual and psychological as well as the physical, natural, and societal resources available to aid in the goals mentioned in Our Story.
